Stepping Stones

OK, so it's time to go with something a bit different. As I promised a while ago, I added a page for some other stuff I plan to post here. And it's high time to add something else there, apart from my less-than successful Rimworld AAR attempt. Namely, my sorry attempts at writing. I sorta feel like the only proper way to sum this up is using the old  Spiderman meme , with an appropriately modified captition - but I'll be damned, let's give this a shot, without any further ado. The story was initially posted on r/shortstories subreddit; you can read the archived entry  here . ___________________________________________________ Stepping Stones Seen from orbit, Mars was a sight to behold. There were fine streaks of blue crossing the day hemisphere - a spiderweb of fine threads enveloping vast deserts of red dust. Some of those streams converged in lakes of rusty water, oases of life among desolate badlands. Patches of dark green vegetation spread

Well then, so much for more frequent posting in May. Yay me. But on the other hand, I did manage to get three posts this month anyway. That's more than in March and April combined. As Alucard would say - progress . So, let's get back to business, first with an update of our brave Kerbals and their exploits.  And it seems that this time, they found something real strange... at this time, they found something real strange...

[Xenoblade Chronicles 2] Above the Sea of Clouds

I have always been a proud member of the PC Master Gaming race. This sorta changed a few years ago, when I got myself a 3DS with Fire Emblem: Awakening. And a few days ago I decided to join yet another party I am hopelessly late for and got myself a brand new Switch. Yes, I know the rumors about some new system to be announced by Nintendo soon(ish). I initially wanted to wait until E3, but upon hearing no new system is to be announced there, decided to take the risk. Especially since my "I want" list of games kept growing with every passing month. And heck, no regrets here whatsoever. First game out of the "to do" list is Xenoblade Chronicles 2. And yes, at this very point I shamelessly admit half the reason I decided to get it was Homura/Pyra and her... Valours.  In my defense, the other half  was an almost unanimous praise I heard from each and every of my friends who had already gotten their copy earlier. Since I'm only about 12 hours

Back from hiatus

Welp, two month's break. Not gonna lie, I was expecting a pause sooner or later, with Easter, RL work stuff and other things piling up. But I'm back and (hopefully) those few people that keep checking Nerd Base Iota will start seeing new updates again. Assuming those are not just accidental Google surfers and/or bots... But I'll let myself be an optimist here. Big thanks to you guys, you are the reason I decided to keep writing on. Anyway, a few technical notes: Survivors of Berenice got dropped. I think I got a wring approach here, getting too much into details instead of focusing on the bigger picture. Might come back with another Rimworld campaign though, once I sort out the ideas here. Kerbals are not dead and are very much ongoing. It's just the case of me being unable/too lazy to write down another chapter. A new page link was added to the top panel - Story Archive . At this point it only contains link to Survivors , but at later time I plan to add
